Free Pregnancy Anxiety Counseling [By the End of 2021]
Besides being a young housewife and a work-from-home mom-to-be, I’m also a psychology graduate with two extra years of psychotherapy education. The type of psychotherapy I studied and practiced is called REBT – Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. It takes into consideration all parts of our inner and outer life and dissects them in order to instill in us healthy beliefs that lead to healthy emotions.
I am now 5+ months pregnant, and in my recent weeks of pregnancy, I’ve become more anxious than ever before. Mind you, I am prone to anxiety and it’s been there since day one, but not to this extent.
What I found to help me with pregnancy anxiety are two things: Albert Ellis (the father of REBT)’s amazing book – How to Control Your Anxiety Before It Controls You, and manifesting, affirmations, and all things spiritual.
But today, out of the blue, it came to me that what would help me even more is spreading the good habits we can all master – I help you manage anxiety via a combination of REBT techniques and what we REBTiles call the third wave – manifestations, affirmations, and the like – and you help me by letting me repeat the truths about anxiety so many times I start believing them.
The bottom line is:
I am pregnant.
I am anxious.
And I am qualified to try and help those of you who feel the same way cope the best way we can cope.
