At the end of each year, I like to look back at what my goals for the year were, and what I achieved in those 12 months. I talk a lot about the importance of gratitude, and this is a great chance to practice it. Not only that, but I get to be proud of myself, think of where I was when the year began, and where I am now.
Last year was amazing. And still, I was hoping this year would see me happier and even more fulfilled than the previous one. I’m happy to say it happened.
2021 in Retrospect
| January | I got a huge promotion. Instead of being a writer, I was suddenly managing a team of some 15 people. I also started some serious work on this website, which I launched in December 2020 and which is now a year old! |
| February | I got a 30% raise I tried so hard to manifest. Later during the month, our household was graced with an adorable kitten. He showed up in our front yard at -10°C, sick and sneezing. We took him in and he took our hearts immediately. |
| March | I went skiing for the first time ever! My husband is very good at skiing, so bit by bit, I learned. On day four, I let go of fear and truly fell in love with it. |
| May | We decided to start trying for a baby. It was such an exciting time! |
| June | I found out I was pregnant – something the majority of this blog now revolves around! I found out on day 27 of my cycle, which doesn’t happen often. I am so blessed to have found out so early on. We also went to Montenegro to my grandma’s funeral, but it did give my husband the chance to meet some of my numerous family. |
| July | I went to my first few OB/GYN visits and heard my baby’s heartbeat for the first time. It was such a surreal moment, one that nearly made me cry. Oh, and we got married! Another surreal moment – or, rather, a surreal three days. The bachelorette party I got was so intimate and nice as well! |
| August | My husband and I traveled to Denmark together! It was my third time and his first. I owe a lot to my manifesting rituals around that time – thank you, Universe, for gifting us with a journey in the midst of a pandemic! It was our first time abroad in two years. We had such a nice time, the weather was really good, we walked a lot, and he loved my extended family. As for me, I was so happy to meet my nephews for the first time! |
| September | We found out we were getting a boy! We were together when the doctor told us, and I’m so happy we could share that moment. |
| October | My friend from another town whom I barely ever see (but talk to every week) visited us! He stayed over the weekend and we had a really nice time. |
| November | My website started making its first money. Ridiculously small amounts – but it’s still something I’m super proud of! |
| December | I got a $1,000 bonus from my company and threw a memorable baby shower. We got such nice presents and it was such a nice evening! |
So, to sum up 2021:
In Business Terms
I’m now successfully managing a website and 20 people, and have gotten a significant raise plus end of year bonus. I’m also dedicated to running my own website.
In Personal Terms
I got married, got pregnant, and have a cat I adore. Oh, and I finally traveled with my husband to Denmark!
I also read ten or so books, which I am super proud of for finding the time. I’ve had many beautiful mornings on the balcony, with my book and a cup of hot coffee.
I am so grateful for the way 2021 turned out to be. I am sad because between my husband and me, we lost three of our grandmas. I hope they found peace and that they’re happier than ever.
And I pray for a blessed, and the best yet 2022!
